SETTING SAFE MMX VOLTAGES
Motherboards designed for MMX style processors require two power supplies. One supplies power to the CPUs I/O section and the other to the CPUs CORE section. Two power supplies are also required for the new processors manufactured by AMD, IBM, Cyrix, and Intel. The CORE voltage is stamped on the CPU chip and varies with manufacturer. Jumpers on a Socket 7 motherboard are then set accordingly. The importance of setting the jumpers correctly cannot be stressed enough as a wrong setting can eventually burn out an expensive MMX CPU.
Incorrect jumper settings are like a time bomb waiting to go off, causing erratic operation or a system to lock up. The problem is compounded as the incorrect jumper settings can easily go unnoticed as the system appears to operate normally. System problems will surface whenever the CPU reaches it's thermal limit, only to work mysteriously again after it cools and resolving itself only when the system's overheated processor fails.
ANY FAILED CPU SHOULD HAVE ITS SOCKET VOLTAGES CHECKED OR RISK THE FAILURE OF THE REPLACEMENT CPU
The PROCESSOR PROTECTOR gives you assurance you need to ship a system knowing you and your customer will not have any surprises. Your quality control department will appreciate how fast they can confirm a previously awkward testing process. The PROCESSOR PROTECTOR is a simple, effective solution to guard against CPU damage caused by incorrect voltages.
*NEW* Now, you can test Slot 1 type CPUs with the Processor Protector II for only $69.
*NEW* Both styles of Processor Protectors can be ordered on-line at our SDRAM.COM website.
